Recipe File: Sweets for our sweet

MANILA, Philippines - Mother’s Day is a special time when we celebrate with, pay respect to, and give back to our beloved moms. While there are countless ways to make our moms feel extra loved on their day, we opt for one classic style – grab her apron and give her a day off from the kitchen. Pamper her sweet tooth and prepare this cookie treat from the San Miguel Great Food Club, which the entire family will also enjoy.

Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients:

Magnolia all purpose flour - 2 cups   

baking soda  - 1 tsp             

salt - 1/4 tsp 

instant oatmeal - 2 cups                                

Magnolia Gold Butter  - 1 cup           

brown sugar - 1 cup

sugar - 3/4 cup                                 

eggs - 2 pcs            

vanilla extract - 1 tsp            

semi-sweet chocolate chips  - 2 cups            

walnuts, coarsely chopped - 1 cup                            

Procedure:                                       

Combine flour, baking soda, salt and instant oatmeal. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla one at a time. Add flour mixture, chocolate chips and walnuts. Scoop cookie dough and arrange on the cookie sheets.  Bake at 350oF for 10 minutes or until done. Baking time: 10 minutes if you like it chewy; 15 minutes if you like it crispy.
