Beef Wellington With A Siding Of Aglio Olio

 History buffs would know that the Duke of Wellington is a champion-- a military hero best known for defeating Napoleon in the Battle of Waterloo. Let Italianni’s Restaurant corporate executive chef Jonathan “Boom” Jota help you boost your confidence in the kitchen. Emerge victorious by whipping up a special Beef Wellington meal.

Beef Wellington

Ingredients

150 gms beef tenderloin

salt, pepper and paprika

Dash with Worcestershire sauce, 1 table spoon of yellow mustard

filo/phyllo pastry (paper-thin sheet of unleavened flour dough used for making pastries)

Procedure:

Season the beef tenderloin with salt, pepper , paprika,  a dash of Worcestershire sauce and a tablespoon of yellow mustard’

Pan –sear the meat.

Wrap the meat and filling in filo pastry and bake for 5 minutes in a 350 degree oven

For the filling: Saute mushrooms and onion

Aglio Olio

Ingredients:

Angel hair pasta

Olive oil

Chopped garlic

Cherry tomatoes

Blanched asparagus spears

Procedure: Saute angel hair pasta in garlic and olive oil. Assemble with cherry tomatoes and asparagus spears.

Assemble the entire plate and garnish with fresh parsley and a fresh oregano sprig.

A Tip For A Lovely Scent

Add a fresh scent by placing a bouquet of fresh herbs that compliment your dinner menu near the front door and in each washroom.

Some good options are mint, rosemary, cilantro and sage as they all 

have a strong and pleasing aromas. Make sure your selected herbs don’t clash with your dinner menu.
