Kids get to be kitchen masters at CCA Manila

MANILA, Philippines - The Center for Culinary Arts (CCA Manila), the Philippines’ top culinary school, offers the “Young Chefs Boot Camp,” a summer culinary arts program especially designed for children with a knack not only for tasting food but also for preparing scrumptious dishes and meals that is sure to make their families proud.

 Starting this week until the last week of May, the CCA “Young Chefs Boot Camp” will introduce kids to different kinds of cuisines, dishes and food preparations and the many different ways to prepare them. They will also be taught by CCA Manila’s experienced and highly qualified faculty chefs, while enjoying the cooking experience with other kids, developing not only their culinary insights but their social skills as well. 

 Kids and their parents have four modules that they can choose from, each lasting for four hours per session for five days, from Monday to Friday.  Each training module also includes a lineup of dishes that the kids will prepare every day, making the experience varied and exciting for them. The CCA “Young Chefs Boot Camp” will be offered at CCA Manila’s campuses in Katipunan Avenue and The Podium.

 Young kitchen masters get to sample the strong, memorable zest of Asian cooking through “Asian Flavors,” where they will learn to create their culinary renditions of well-known dishes from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian. For 16 years old, Asian Flavors is scheduled until March 30, and from April 16 to 20 and May 7 to 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. at CCA Katipunan, and on April 23 to 27 from 2 to 6 p.m. at CCA Podium.

 Budding bakers are set for an engagement with the oven with “Baking & Pastry 101,” as they hone their skills “on the flour” and come up with delicious muffins, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, breads and other mouthwatering delights like éclairs, cream puffs and many others.  For kids 10 to 16 years old, Baking & Pastry 101 is set from April 9 to 13 and April 30 to May 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. at CCA Katipunan, and from May 7 to 11 from 2 to 6 p.m. at CCA Podium.

 “Western Flavors” is a gastronomical learning experience for junior chefs who want to prepare appetizing classics in the form of sandwiches, shakes pizza and pasta, breakfast treats and other American, British and Italian dining favorites.  Western Flavors, for kids 10 to 16 years old, will be offered from April 9 to 13 and April 30 to May 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. at CCA Katipunan, and on April 16 to 20 and May 21 to 25 from 2 to 6 p.m. at CCA Podium.

 Kiddie culinarians from seven to 10 years old also get to shine with “Young Upstarts” where they get to learn dishes and snacks that are easy to prepare.  From lunchbox goodies, American dining classics, baked creations and many others, they also get to have their first foray in Japanese and Italian cuisines.  Young Upstarts will take place until March 30, April 16 to 20 and May 7 to 11 from 1 to 5 p.m. at CCA Katipunan while CCA Podium will host it until March 30 and May 14 to 18 at CCA Podium.
