MANILA, Philippines - QTV resident chef Mitchie Sison shared her recipes for healthy baby food at the Consumer Electronics Live held recently at the World Trade Center in Manila.
She demonstrated how fast and easy it was to whip up meals for tots using fresh ingredients and with the aid of Philips Avent Combined Steamer and Blender.
The Philips Avent steamer-blender is a breakthrough in baby care technology as it combines the functionalities of a steamer and blender in one gadget. After steaming the food in the container, just flip the jar and blend.
APPLE PUREE
Cooking time: approximately five minutes
Serving size: two portions, about 175 ml.
Suitable for freezing
Ingredients:
One medium sized apple, about 200 g. (any variety)
Directions:
1. Peel and core the apple
2. Cut the apple into small pieces and put into the Philips Avent Combined Steamer and Blender.
3. Pour 50 ml. water into the boiler and steam for five minutes until tender.
4. Flip the jar to its blending position and blend two or three times for five seconds each according to the desired consistency.
5. Transfer to a clean bowl. Add baby’s milk or baby rice cereal if needed to adjust consistency. Allow to cool.
6. Serve one portion.
7. Refrigerate/freeze the rest for later use.
