MANILA, Philippines - Parañaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe Jr. ordered the renovation of the Parañaque Public Market in Barangay La Huerta.
“Cleanliness is vital to any institution that sells food to consumers that’s why we have undertaken the renovation of the public market so that our constituents know that they are getting food products from a facility where strict standards for cleanliness are observed,” Mayor Bernabe said.
The renovations included the painting of the public market building; repair of the two steel gates; adding of steel railings on the sidewalks; installation of tiles in the meat and chicken section; replacement of the non-functional and irreparable escalator with a wide stairway; installation of a water tank; and replacement of broken glass panels.
The mayor reiterated his vow to improve the delivery of services in the city for the benefit of the citizens, adding that what is important is that the service needs of the residents of the city are provided.
The Parañaque Public Market has the freshest sea harvest such fish, mollusks, crustaceans even edible seaweeds; farm-fresh agricultural produce, meat and and native delicacies. Here, vendors debone bangus for relyeno and daing sa suka at no extra cost.
