Ayala Land’s Alegria Hills breaks ground in Cagayan de Oro City

After 10 years of negotiations, planning, and hard work, the wait is finally over. Ayala Land Inc., the premier real estate developer in the country, recently broke ground at its much-anticipated high-end residential development called Alegria Hills in Cagayan de Oro City.

The 53-hectare subdivision project is perched atop sloping highlands set amid open, green spaces on a plateau that affords a magnificent panoramic vista of the city and Macajalar Bay. It is approximately eight kilometers from the city proper and business center.

The ceremonial groundbreaking at Phase One of the project site, which was officiated by Fr. Asandas Balchand from Xavier University, signaled the entry of Ayala in the southern Philippines real estate market. The property straddles three barangays, namely Indahag, Kamaman-an and Macasandig.

In attendance were government officials led by Mayor Vicente Emano and Mayor-Elect Constantino Jaraula. They were joined by project partners, the Boniao, Borromeo and Murillo families, and executives and members of Ayala Land management team led by vice president Francis Monera, marketing and sales head Tetta Baad, and Ver de la Cruz.

To seal Ayala Land’s commitment toward the development of the property into a haven of a residential community, a symbolic time capsule containing pertinent documents such as the memorandum of agreement, transfer certificates of title, environmental clearance certificate, and license to sell was lowered. The program ended on a high note with a ceremonial tree planting within the 3.5-hectare clubhouse by the guests.

Alegria Hills, upon completion, will offer a high level of comfort, serenity and security. The development will be complemented with quality features and amenities that will be a first in this part of the country. The mountain oasis will have a spacious clubhouse and sports facilities, pocket parks and canyon trails to highlight the outdoors. It will also have a chapel designed to strengthen the spirit of prayer and meditation.

The culmination of the event was a thanksgiving dinner at the atrium of Lim Ket Kai Center, where guests, who included government officials, prospective lot owners and investors, were treated to a heartwarming extravaganza that showcased Filipino songs and a medley of dances as choreographed by Cebu’s foremost director Junjet Primor.
