Bigger, bolder Yo Latino parties to life

As commonly quoted these days, the Chinese character for the word crisis is a combination of two, represented by danger and opportunity.

Yo Latino, Cebu’s hard-to-beat upbeat party place, was ceremoniously forced to close last year due to expansion and development projects at the Ayala Village. However, it faced the challenge and seized the opportunity of the situation to rise again. This time bigger, it was bolder and better.

On hand to grace the affair during the recent re-opening were Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, Rep. Raul del Mar, Mandaue City Mayor Teddy Ouano, and his fashion trendy wife Linda.

Other government dignitaries sighted were Rep. Antonio Cuenco, city councilor Jack Jakosalem, who came with his charming wife Sharon, board member Victor Maambong, and former Mandaue Mayor Pedong Ouano and his spouse Loling.

Drinks flowed freely throughout the evening, and servings of food never seemed to run out as regulars reminisced on the good times and newfound clients merrily mixed and mingled.

What is Yo Latino’s big come-on? For starters, the resto-bar serves a variety of never-seen-before dishes. The bar is fully equipped with every imaginable drink possible. They have chilled margaritas that are highly recommended, cold beer, vodkas, tequilas, whisky, wines and spirits.

The evening’s guest performers were Manila’s popular Latin band Sabor Latino that had guests trooping to the spacious dance floor, while others chose to swing and sway on their seats.

Partying to the Latin beat were eligible bachelors the Klepp brothers Andy and Alex, banker Iñaki Martinez, fashion designer Ditas Rodriguez, enterprising lady Girlie de Guia and her lovely daughter Summer Eve, young glamorous gals June Ugarte, Grace Lerma, Jinky Casals, and Joy Siguan.

Cebu’s show bands, such as the Extremes, Club M, Rave, and Apostrophe, alternately perform daily from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

Discreetly supervising the activities while enjoying the party were young, adventurous owners Jonkie Ouano, Jojo and Lollipop Dizon, Alfie Ouano, Cheryl Ouano, and Joseph Gonzalez.
