No standing, dancing only for Agile Zamora’s ’80s Disco B-day

The vivacious Agile Abastillas Zamora celebrated her golden year recently at Sage, Shangri-La Makati.

Clad in an eye-catching cocktail outfit by Albert Andrada and Dobie Aranda, two of her favorite couturiers, Agile had a great time entertaining guests who know how to enjoy life, booze it up and dance. Everyone enjoyed unlimited drinks and excellently chosen bar chow ’til way past the crowing of the rooster. I just couldn’t get enough of Agile’s favorite canapés and the to-die-for cheese bar, dahlings. Well, that’s the way Manila parties went during Agile’s disco days.

Sage was transformed into an ’80s disco like Stargazer and Faces. The best DJs from Wopsy Zamora’s famed First Audio company in the ’80s featuring Elmer Dado and his Gruppo Tribale flew in just to perform for Agile, Boyet Sison, Jon Tupaz and Dickie Tan.

Highlight was Wopsy’s “just for my wife” special performance. It was definitely a “No Standing, Dancing Only” night. More than 250 guests had a grand time in and out of the dance floor to the delight of the golden girl, palanggas.

I was told that Sage Bar wants to duplicate Agile’s party once a month because of its resounding success. Yes! Go for it, it’s a winner, palanggas.
