MANILA, Philippines - Aranàz celebrates the light that shines within us Filipinos during times of darkness with its latest project — the Aranàz Luz With Love bag.

Known as the “Banig Capital of the Philippines,” Basey, Samar, is one of the towns that were badly hit by the killer typhoon. Mat-weaving is the town’s primary livelihood and the recent typhoon Haiyan has dampened this thriving industry.

In true bayanihan spirit, the Bicol weavers lend a helping hand thorugh the With Love bag. Handcrafted in Bicol, the bag will benefit the towns folk of Basey, Samar, who are currently unable to produce their own weaves.

A portion of the sales from every bag sold will be used to rebuild the lives and homes of Basey, Samar  residents — the residents who have labored to bring us the beautiful woven mats we all know and love.

Priced at P2,500, the With Love bag is available online at www.aranaz.ph and all Aranàz boutiques at Greenbelt 5 and Power Plant Mall, Makati City.
