Model adventurer

MANILA, Philippines - Did you know that wildlife adventurer Lin Sutherland was a swimwear and sportswear model as a teen?

Sutherland’s love of nature flourished in Sydney’s North Shore. In fact, her father was a geologist who traveled the world studying volcanoes while her mother worked for a local wildlife rescue group. At 17, Lin went alone to the United States where she worked at a summer camp. She then moved to San Diego where she taught waterskiing and dealt cards at the navy bases, while landing a regular job as a swimwear and sportswear model.

With over 15 years of working in the natural world under her belt, Lin Sutherland has been a scuba diving instructor, photojournalist, cameraman, marine adviser, filmmaker and adventurer. On the field, she travels to the remote parts of the globe to explore and understand the extraordinary wildlife while learning the natural history of our planet.

She has hosted in several adventure documentary series on Discovery Channel including the Killer Instinct series The Barefoot Bushman where she co-hosted with Rob Breddi. Her own ongoing series, Roar of the Wild has been aired last 2006 and her latest series, Travel Wild premiered in the Philippines yesterday.

Catch the series of Travel Wild on TLC, available on SkyCable Channel 120, Global Destiny Cable 53, Parasat Cable TV Channel 39, and Cablelink Channel 25.
