MANILA, Philippines - Fashion Watch, the year-long series of shows presented by BMW and Metro Pacific Investments with The Philippine STAR, Preview, Stylebible.ph, and StarWorld as media partners, presents Alex Bitong and James Reyes tomorrow, 4 p.m. at the lobby of Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Special Fashion Watch high tea is served at P810+.
A project of the Council of Fashion Designers of the Philippines, each Fashion Watch segment features the collection of two designers in a back-to-back format. The series runs until November 2011.
Bitong is one of Manila’s most respected and admired designers. He was featured in Fashion Watch ’08. He was also chosen as one of the premier designers to dress up Barbie for Ballet Philippines.
Alex’s new creations are very promising. His dresses can make anyone stand out.
James Reyes was a finalist in the Mega Young Designers’ Competition in 2002. In the same year, he joined the Paris Young Designers’ Competition and won one of the five slots to compete in Paris.
Reyes opened his atelier in January of 2005, specializing in bridal wear and evening wear. A few months later, he was elected president of The Young Designers’ Guild (YDG) of the Philippines.
Fashion Watch features 19 of the country’s most notable designers, each showcasing a brand-new collection. Each designer is exclusive to Fashion Watch .
Fashion Watch boasts industry greats working behind the scenes. Manila’s Prince of Fashion Inno Sotto is the creative director; Grace Molina is project coordinator, while Patrick Rosas and his team are in charge of hair and makeup.
