Dear Rissa,
I’ve been traveling a lot for work and my jet lag is terrible. I haven’t been getting good sleep and it shows. My eyes look so dark and tired. Please recommend a quick fix until I can get back to my normal sleeping pattern.
Aimee M.
Whether you’re a frequent traveler jet lagging from so many trips, a workaholic always on overtime, a party animal rebounding from a long night, or a mother caring for her newborn till the wee morning hours, we all have to deal with dark circles under the eyes. I sometimes get them, too, whenever I don’t get enough sleep. To brighten tired eyes in less than a minute, do try the Shimmering Skin Perfector by Becca (available only at Adora Department Store, Greenbelt 5). Equipped with light-diffusing particles of shimmer, this water-based moisturizer helps illuminate darkened patches on skin and instantly gives life and radiance to tired-looking eyes. Worry not — this doesn’t have too much glitter; just enough to give an instant glow. You can apply this under your eyes anytime of the day and it magically makes you look like you had a good night’s sleep!

Top Tip for Chapped Lips
Dear Ms. Tingting,
It’s super cold these days and my lips are chapping off! It has come to a point that I can’t wear lipstick anymore because it hurts when I apply it. What’s best for me to do?
Rhian
Dab on lots of petroleum jelly. Or get under the shower and let lots of warm water run over your lips, then take a washcloth and gently rub over the surface. This has the double function of exfoliating dead skin while the water softens your lips. Finish off with a few dabs of lip balm.
If you suffer from very dry lips, apply a non-greasy lip balm rather than a moisturizer, which isn’t designed for lips. To add color to dry lips, mix some of your favorite lipstick with a little lip balm using a lip brush, gently dot onto your lips with your index finger if wearing a lip color is a must for you.

Giving Too Short Dresses a Longer Life
Dear Lucy,
How can I make use of dresses that are too short and too tight? I have a few that I can’t let go of because the quality is really for keeps and they happen to be very good brands as well. I have them in solid colors.
Also, where can I get nice sleepwear? Not the lingerie type, just nice cotton tops and bottoms that are comfortable but do not look mommyish.
Sandra
For your too short and too tight dresses, go to Spanx. At the very least, when it comes to these, make sure you have the right underwear that will hold you in. To relax the look a bit, you can also throw a long cardigan over it that is cut slim. If you wear it during the day, use ballerina flats to keep it casual. If you use it at night, wear it with tights.
For sleepwear, I go to La Senza. They have nice cotton pajamas and tops. But I bet you can’t leave that shop without getting underwear because they have a very nice selection there.
