Dear Rissa,
My batch will be having our high school reunion this December. I’m currently on the plump side and want to look slimmer for our reunion. Crash diets don’t work for me. Any model tips you can share? A lot of holiday parties are also coming up. I need to finally learn how to put on makeup on myself. Where can I learn?

Most people think that models are always on a diet. Far from it. Models do eat — a lot. Personally, I don’t restrain myself from eating dishes I enjoy. I eat what I want, but I know when to stop. I don’t diet — I eat right and eat healthy.
One of my favorite things to munch on is Nestle Fitnesse cereal. I enjoy this so much that I think I can finish a whole box in one sitting! My favorite variant is the Fitnesse Honey & Almond (but try the original Fitnesse Low Fat Whole Grain Cereal variant and the Fitnesse & Fruit variant, too). You can enjoy this with low-fat milk, but I often like to munch on this cereal on its own while watching TV. Definitely a healthier alternative to greasy and fatty chips!
Armed with this healthy whole grain cereal, diet experts say you can achieve a slimmer figure in just two weeks. Yup, you can bid those pounds goodbye without the need for crash diets and unhealthy supplements simply by following the Nestle Fitnesse 14-day meal plan.
In this meal plan, Myra Garcia, consumer marketing manager of Nestle Fitnesse, explains that you only need to replace breakfast and one of the main meals — either lunch or dinner — with Nestle Fitnesse for two weeks.
“Following this means you’re making a real effort to eat more whole grains, reduce the fat and saturated fat content of your diet,” says Garcia. “Whole grains such as brown rice, whole wheat cereals, or oats, contain all the parts of the grain, thus retaining its fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals,” she explains. “With this, you’re definitely on the right track to showing off your shape.” She adds that exercising as well as eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, and low-fat, carbohydrate-rich foods is the best way to complement this 14-day regimen.
Yes, the secret to shedding those unwanted pounds could be unlocked with two words: whole grain. Garcia shares that independent studies show that women who regularly eat whole grain as part of a low-fat diet and healthy lifestyle tend to weigh less and are less likely to gain weight over time.
Apart from achieving that sexy new you, Nestle Fitnesse gives you eight very good reasons to go crazy over the Nestle Fitnesse 14-day meal plan: Chanel, Hermes, Rhett Eala, Jun Escario, Kate Torralba, Religioso, Michi Calica, and 7 for all Mankind. You can win this killer wardrobe simply by losing two pounds in 14 days! In Nestle Fitnesse’s Show off Your Shape promo, fashionistas only have to form a team of two to eight members; follow the Nestle Fitnesse 14-day meal plan; post and promote their 14-day regimen online; ask their friends to vote for their entries, and then finally cross their fingers for the most-coveted designer wardrobe to hit Manila. Hair it is: From thin to thick
I started losing hair when I delivered my first child and now I have three and all of them are grown-up.
I consulted my doctor and he told me not to worry as my hair will grow back soon, but that soon never came. I’m now in my 50s and I’ve lost hope of getting my hair back. I remember my grandmother advising me to get the aloe vera plant and squeeze it on my scalp, but it’s hard to remove it with shampoo. Someone also suggested that I take prenatal vitamins to grow my hair back, but it seems funny for a menopausal person to be taking a prenatal vitamin. Can you suggest something?
P.S. I’ve always had short hair like a boy because if my hair grows longer, the more I get bald and lose more hair.

As I mentioned in an earlier column, go and see Dr. Filomena Legarda at Makati Medical Center. She has a fabulous hair grower called Tricomin. Tricomin Revitalizing Shampoo is a unique cleansing and body-building formulation with triamino copper nutritional complex to bathe the scalp with essential amino acids and minerals. It stimulates and restores health and vitality to thinning, fine or damaged hair. For best results, follow up shampooing with the Tricomin Restructuring Conditioner. It is also recommended that you apply Tricomin Follicle Therapy Spray.
