MANILA, Philippines — Last Nov. 8, Edsa Shangri-La, Manila officially welcomed the Yuletide season with its annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at the hotel’s grand lobby. This year’s theme is “A Storybook Christmas” for all the kids and kids at heart. Edsa Shangri-La lets guests travel back in time to heartwarming Christmases of their childhood. The evening’s highlight was a special soprano performance by Risse Santos who serenaded the crowd with traditional Christmas tunes. Leading the heartwarming event were Edsa Shangri-La, Manila’s GM Amit Oberoi, honored guest Mandaluyong City councilor Charisse Abalos, together with the children of Isla De Cocomo, the beneficiary of Edsa Shangri-La, Manila’s Embrace program for the past 22 years.
