MANILA, Philippines - The Israel Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Year End Hanukkah Celebration was held last December 2012 at the Baron’s Bar, Tower Club, Makati City. The tradition of lighting the Menorah is a custom in which Jews not only remember the victory over Antiochus and his suppression over the Jews but their restoration of the Holy Temple and the oil that burned for eight days, even though there was only enough oil for one. For Jewish, Hanukkah is not a major holiday as far as Jewish faith goes, but because of the proximity to Christmas, it has taken more cultural importance.
