MANILA, Philippines - “Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) 2012: Moving Forward with Smarter Mobility,†(advocacy category) and “Shell Pepeng Pasada’s Sali na S.I.R. campaign†(Integrated Promo and Activation-Led Programme) won Silver Awards in the 2013 UA&P Tambuli Awards (7th Asia-Pacific Integrated Marketing Effectiveness and Values Awards) held recently at the UA&P Auditorium in Pasig City.
The UA&P Tambuli Awards is the only global award that celebrates Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) effectiveness and the promotion of societal values in one award.
From over 300 entries received from the Philippines, Singapore, Shanghai, Indonesia, and other countries from the Asia-Pacific Region, Shell’s entries emerged as top winners in their respective categories, adjudged by a panel of regional agencies and jury members from the Asia-Pacific Region.
The Tambuli Awards follow a case study approach, which gives equal measure to both profitable integrated marketing communications campaigns and the simultaneous promotion of societal values.
“We are truly honored with this global award as it inspires us to work even harder in promoting smarter mobility, creating an educational platform for the Filipino youth that lets them design, build their energy-efficient vehicles and compete in the Shell regional competition for fuel efficiency. Through SEM, we are empowering today’s youth in finding innovative methods to address future energy challenges,†said Shell vice president for communications Roberto S. Kanapi.
With its successful advocacy campaign in the Philippines, Shell companies in the Philippines won the bid to be the region’s next host of the Asian leg of the Shell Eco-Marathon in 2014 to 2016.
Meanwhile, the Shell Pepeng Pasada Club (PPC) Sali na S.I.R. campaign received the highest award in its category, sharing top spot with FMCG companies. Shell PPC is a rewards and loyalty program for motorists and professional drivers in the country.
“While we are at the forefront of energy and fuel efficiency, we uphold our commitment to clean and efficient transport, thereby helping motorist get the most out of every drop every time they gas up.
