Manila, Philippines - Employees, sales personnel, supervisors and members of the executive committee of Asiawide Refreshments Corp. strengthened teamwork recently at the annual “ARClympics” held at Marist School in Marikina.
Emerging as overall champion in the team category was the Antipolo A Giants, whose runners, led by Jimmy Trinidad and Mary Ann Cabal, won the 3K Fun Run for men and women, respectively. Team Metro North placed second while the Antipolo B Eagles ended up in third place overall.
It was a close match for both teams throughout the games, with Nicolas Familleza of Metro North tying for first place with Trinidad of Antipolo A in the 3K Fun Run for men. Metro North’s Jonathan Guevarra was named chess champion, Rey Torricer and Reagan Monsanto won in darts (doubles), while the tandem of Eduardo Haviera and Emerlito Esmas took home the table tennis trophy (men’s doubles).
Antipolo A, on the other hand, ruled both the men’s and women’s volleyball competitions. Johnny Samson won the singles match in darts, while the duo of Joey Cruz and Herbert Santos prevailed in badminton (men’s doubles).
From sister team Antipolo B Eagles, Bernie Dela Cruz won in men’s table tennis, while Jessica Cruz and Eden Fe Bueno topped the women’s doubles in badminton.
Team Pampanga won the basketball trophy; Japet Sanchez of team corporate took home the badminton trophy (men’s singles) and Anita Martin of Team South Luzon edged out Javhen Ricafort of Antipolo B in women’s table tennis. The Corporate Division’s Warriors won “Best in Cheering” while Malou Baretto was declared “Best Muse.”
Now celebrating its eighth anniversary, ARC has been conducting the annual sportsfest to instill a sense of unity and grow further the spirit of “Value First” among its staff, which drives the way the Filipino company does its business.
