MANILA, Philippines - Equicom Savings Bank (EqB) recently launched its Internet banking service. With the availability of this new online banking facility, enrolled clients need not go outside the convenience of their homes or their offices for real-time balance inquiries or viewing their statements of accounts.
“Equicom Online is open to those with EqB deposit accounts and holders of all types of Equicom cards,” says senior vice president Elizabeth Coronel. “This service has real-time, month-to-date statements. Clients can view specific periods within the past 12 months or any period up to 90 days within the past 12 months. Here, they can verify their balances and all their banking transactions across any of their EqB cards or accounts real-time, that is, even with their most recent approved transactions.”
With Equicom Online Statement Viewing, clients can also view the front and back images of issued checks from their checking accounts and detailed reports for supported auto-credit transactions.
Some of the added conveniences in Equicom Online include the Quick Inquiry, which can be used by prepaid card, gift card, and rewards cardholders even without enrollment, and the Bancnet Online, which lets Equicom debit cardholders (ATM and/or prepaid) perform ATM-like non-cash transactions via Internet banking. Other transactions not requiring enrollment include balance inquiry, checkbook request, and fund transfer across current and savings accounts linked to the ATM card. Meanwhile, inter-bank fund transfer to other accounts with Bancnet member banks requires pre-enrollment.
Personal and corporate Internet banking services may be accessed via the client’s enrolled user name and password. Quick Inquiry only requires the card number, and Bancnet Online requires the card number and PIN to process transactions. All Internet banking transactions are free of charge except for inter-bank funds transfer.
Complementing EqB’s online banking service is Equicom Mobile Banking. Perfect for people constantly on the go, this service lets clients access important mobile transactions whenever and wherever. Among the accessible banking transactions include: real-time balance inquiry for accounts or cards; quick balance inquiry; the viewing of the last five transactions of their deposit accounts; fund transfer across their accounts; Equicom Cash Card loading from their accounts; and payment for Equicom Credit Card from their accounts. All transactions, except for the Quick Inquiry, need to be enrolled at their Equicom Savings Bank branch. After enrollment, they can already experience a whole new convenient world of mobile banking via 0918-818-EQUI(3784).
EqB is one of the country’s most progressive thrift banks managed by some of the industry’s most experienced and trusted banking executives. Since its opening in 2008, it has since been pursuing its expansion plans and opening more branches nationwide. It offers a wide range of products and services including deposits, Equicom Cards — credit, debit, prepaid, gift, and rewards cards — investments, fund management, business loans and consumer loans. Aside from the new online banking service, EqB is also presently enhancing its logistics and support systems as it widens its multi-service delivery channel, cash management services (deposit pickup service, payroll service, and check-writing facility), remittance services and acceptance of bills payment. The bank sees rapid growth in the next five years, eventually becoming the preferred bank of SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and consumers, as well.

Individual depositors and cardholders may enroll online and also view enrollment status online, while corporate clients may submit the application form and requirements at their Equicom Savings Bank branch.
