Pinoys participate in Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra ASEAN tour

MANILA, Philippines - Five young Filipino musicians were selected by Japan Foundation Asia Center to participate in the Asian Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) ASEAN Tour 2015, said the Department of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

Rafael Rubio, Melvin Perido, Peter Ocampo, Patrick James Aguilar and Jacques Dufourt will join the group with their scheduled performances in Jakarta and Yogyakarta in Indonesia; Singapore; Manila, Philippines; Bangkok, Thailand and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

 

The Orchestra is composed of 28 young and talented musicians selected through auditions last February 2015 and conducted in different schools in Southeast Asian countries. Other successful musicians selected came from Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia.

AYJO is a jazz orchestra project of the Japan Foundation Asia Center designed to train emerging talented young musicians through international exchanges and collaborations and to showcase their talents on international stage performances.
