MANILA, Philippines - The Metro Manila Concert Orchestra (MMCO) marks its 15th year with a series of concerts featuring works of the masters, to be performed by world-class soloists under the baton of veteran conductor and composer Josefino Chino Toledo.
Austria-based pianist Aima Labra Makk, with special participation of soprano Gerphil Geraldine Flores, opens the 15th Crystal Concert Season on Aug. 7, 6 p.m. at the Meralco Theater, Ortigas Ave., Pasig City.
Concert pianist Raul Sunico, Jose Artemio Panganiban III and Albert Tiu will perform Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3, Brahms Concerto No. 1 and Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 on Sept. 18, Oct. 21 and Nov. 30, respectively, at the Meralco Theater.
Pianist Cristine Coyiuto and her daughter, flute soloist Caitlin Coyiuto, will take centerstage on Jan. 8, 2016 at the CCP Little Theater. Cristine will play Maurice Ravel’s dazzling Spanish and jazz-influenced Concerto in G-Major, while Caitlin will perform Joaquin Rodrigo’s Fantasia Para Un Gentil Hombre.
Capping the 15th Crystal Concert Season is the magnificent Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3 to be performed by concert pianist Abelardo Galang III.
