‘In Celebration of Contemporary Art’ at The Artologist Gallery

The Artologist Gallery marked the opening of its new space in San Juan with “In Celebration of Contemporary Art,” which opens on March 21 at The Artologist Gallery, Xavier Residences, 81 Xavier St., San Juan City.

The show features sculptures by Jinggoy Buensuceso, John Perry Pellejera, Bernie Balagtas, Jik Villanueva and Douglas Aucoin, as well as paintings and mixed media pieces from Monnar, Sam Penaso, Van Tuico, Demi Padua, Riche Yee, Maldwyn de Pano, Adam Nacianceno, Frances Arnaez, Fernando Antimano, Coneth Amido,Caloy Gabuco, PJ Jalandoni, Karen de Pano, Eman Santos, Julmard Vicente, Ral Arrogante, Buds Convocar, Buddy Ching, Jo Datuin and Mayu Soleno. Danilo Arriola Jr. at ArtistSpace, Ayala Museum

Danilo Angeles Arriola Jr. holds “Chiaroscurist,” which is on view until today at ArtistSpace, Ayala Museum, Makati City.

A chiascurist is a person dowing the works of chiaroscuro, the Italian word for “light and dark.”

Using the sun as his source of light, Danilo attempts to translate nature into canvas by capturing the subject’s vitality as well as the tone of its surrounding atmosphere.
