Filfest Cultural Foundation presents ‘String Connections’

MANILA, Philippines - Filfest Cultural Foundation opens its 6th Concert Season Series 1 with “String Connections” on April 6, 8 p.m., at the Insular Life Auditorium, Insular Life Building Filinvest Corporate City.

A merger of the talent of guitarist Ramoncito Carpio and the artistry of the Manila Symphony Orchestra, the concert is a musical interaction of string sounds, composers and artists. 

Ramoncito Carpio, a prize winner of numerous national and international guitar competitions (Philippines & Singapore in 2011, Thailand in 2010 & 2012, and Taiwan in 2012), will perform Astor Piazzolla’s Primavera Porteno,  Francisco Tarrega’s  Fantasia on themes from La Traviata, Agustin Barrios’ La Catedral and Carlo Domeniconi’s  Koyunbaba. The much-admired Concerto de Aranquez by Rodrigo will be performed with the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

The Manila Symphony Orchestra performs Respighi’s Airs and Dances No. 3 for Lute transcribed for string orchestra, Erik Satie’s Gymnopedies 1 & 2 for Orchestra and Guitar with dance interpretation.
