Impy Pilapil's 'Saturn Series' at Salcedo Auctions

MANILA, Philippines - Salcedo Auctions, the first and only auction house in the country, presents Impy Pilapil’s “Saturn Series.” This exhibition and silent auction is the first in a series of contemporary art projects, which bring significant Filipino artists to a discerning audience.

Pilapil’s sculptures through the decades have inspired awe and admiration both in the Philippines and overseas for the way these harness the intrinsic beauty of natural material and conjure up new forms and ideas that parallel the artist’s inner vision. “Saturn Series” is a reflection of the artist’s current interest in the cosmological forces that map life memories. At its heart is Anthroposophy, a philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner that aims to guide the spiritual element in the human being to the spiritual in the universe.

The works invite viewers to dwell on their inner experiences, and serve as new portals to understanding the human condition.

Impy Pilapil Saturn Series closes on Aug. 27, Friday, and bids will only be accepted until 6 p.m. of that day.

Salcedo Auctions is located at Unit 104-B, Ground Level, Three Salcedo Place, 121 Tordesillas Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City. Single artist or themed group exhibitions run as silent auctions are held at intervals with live auctions throughout the year. Unlike gallery exhibitions where artworks may be reserved ahead of time or purchased immediately, Salcedo Auctions takes delight in providing collectors with the unique opportunity to register their interest by making a firm “silent bid” (guided by a “starting bid” price) with the highest bidder at the close of the exhibition period being offered the piece.
