Ms. Chan will perform a unique repertoire that includes traditional, sacred and art songs by such composers as Durufle, Rossini, Schubert, Bernstein, Umali and Rachmaninoff. She will perform the Philippine premiere of Soliloquy from Love's Labors Lost by Maestro Eugene Castillo, Music Director and Conductor of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. She will end the concert with Heitor Villalobos' Bachianas Brasileiras, which brings together elements of Bach and Brazil.
Sharing the stage with Ms. Chan are baritone Marvin Gayramon, pianist Najib Ismael and an 8-piece celli choir led by Renato Lucas, principal cellist of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
The concert is at 8PM in the Santiago Hall of Equitable PCIBank Tower 1, HV de la Costa corner Makati Avenue.
Tickets are at P500 and P300; P250 for seniors and students with valid ID.
The concert is co-produced by Sinag Arts Foundation. Funds will be raised for an annual cello competition and scholarship in memory of Tiking Lopez, music lover, art patron and himself a cellist. Sponsors are Equitable PCI Bank, philstar.com and DZFE 98.7 The Master's Touch.
