A sumptuous Italian feast

One of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s flagship restaurants, Cucina, continues to innovate and give its guests a breathtaking dining experience.

A formal sit-down dinner, led by general manager Frank Reichenbach, was held to showcase the exceptional work of Cucina’s chef de cuisine Giuseppe Rivoli.

The metro’s most distinguished diplomats, dignitaries and high society regulars enjoyed a five-course meal that included the chef’s famous Italian bruschetta, canapés, prosciutto and melon, broccoli cream soup with seared scallop and crispy pancetta and those were just to whet the appetites of the guests. Every meal was paired off with the perfect wine selections — pan-fried cod fillet with caponatina Sicily style paired with Chardonnay Sauvignon Blanc for the main course, and tartufo ice cream and classic Italian tiramisu paired with Bellagio White NV for dessert.

The guests, which included Italian Ambassador Massimo Roscigno, went home not just with full stomachs but also a renewed love for Italian cuisine, thanks to chef Giuseppe’s brilliance and talent. Salve!
