A one-day conference about disaster preparedness was sponsored by the US-Philippines Society (USPS), Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Embassy of the Philippines in the United States a year after typhoon Haiyan made its landfall in the country.
Entitled “Readiness and Resilience: Lessons Learned One Year After Typhoon Haiyan,” the event was held at the CSIS headquarters in Washington, DC and was attended by diplomats as well as top officials from the US government, Philippine government and the private sector.
Among those invited to take part in the said forum were Carlos P. Romulo Foundation and Zuellig Family Foundation chairman, Ambassador Roberto Romulo, Zuellig Family Foundation president Ernesto Garilao and Manila Observatory executive director Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga.
On the eve of the conference, a dinner in honor of Ambassador Roberto Romulo and wife Olivia was hosted by Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Cuisia Jr. and wife Vicky.
Cheers to the men and women behind this noteworthy affair!
