Reviving the classics

A celebration of love for classical music took place at the historic Far Eastern University (FEU) Auditorium as the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra (MMCO), under the baton of founding conductor and music director professor Josefino Toledo, presented the second concert of its 14th season featuring acclaimed pianist Dr. Jose Artemio Panganiban III.

Dubbed as Schumann Plus, the concert took everyone back in time as the talented pianist — son of retired Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban and Leni Panganiban — played the romantic Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 by the renowned German composer Robert Schumann.

Besides being a musical genius, Dr. Panganiban also has a distinguished career in finance, having earned three graduate degrees from the prestigious Stanford University.

Among those present during the wonderful affair were MMCO chairman and president Boysie Villavicencio, FEU President’s Committee on Culture director Martin Lopez and renowned pianist Dr. Ingrid Santamaria.

Congratulations to Dr. Jose Artemio Panganiban III and the entire Metro Manila Concert Orchestra for this successful musical event!
