A private media event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Ortigas Center where Alcatel executives flew in to unveil the latest phone model. The event showcased an interesting lineup of smartphones that delighted guests.
Taking the IDOL series a notch higher, the IDOL X+ makes use of a true Octa Core processor, which allows eight cores to work simultaneously to enable the next level of performance and power efficiency.
Despite the power hidden under the hood, the exterior of the IDOL X+ keeps to the slim, sleek, styling of the series. It takes styling to the next level with its unique IML spin effect and the brushed metallic frame.
The “0” bezel and borderless 2.4-mm, edge-to-edge design means that pictures and videos will fill the available space. Then there’s the more than 170-degree viewing angle offered by the full HD IPS display. There is also the perfectly designed side speakers, which produce louder and quality sound. The sound is supported by SACD’s 24bit/192KHz playback, which is four times better than CD.
According to an Alcatel spokesperson, “The IDOL range has gained a reputation for offering the best balance of features, performance and design. The new model continues this tradition and is set to surprise and delight with its image-capture and display credentials.”
This new smartphone features a five-inch full HD IPS display, Octa Core 2 GHz, 13.1-megapixel full HD main camera, two-megapixel 1080p front camera, Hi-Fi sound, HD video. It is 8.1mm-thin and has 2500mAh. Additional accessories like JBL earphones and the very popular Alcatel Boomband are also available for the IDOL X+.
