Marco Polo’s Voyage

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila heralded its opening with a grand event dubbed as “Voyage,” with no less than President Noynoy Aquino gracing the opening, with Tourism Secretary Mon Jimenez, top businessmen and officials

Nestled in the central business district of Ortigas, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is the baby of businessman Samuel Po (who is into the distribution of baby care products) who collaborated with the Hong Kong-based Marco Polo Hotels group to build the 45-storey, 316-room luxury hotel.

The country’s first “sky hotel” gives a whole new dimension to the renowned brand of Asian hospitality embodied in the pioneering spirit of famed voyager Marco Polo. The rooms feature high-end amenities with luxury clearly spelled out in all the details, with upscale suites and Continental Club floors offering great views of the bustling Ortigas skyline and cityscape. The whole 22nd floor is dedicated to health and fitness buffs with state-of-the-art facilities that feature a wellness spa, a fitness center and an indoor infinity swimming pool aptly named “Flow.”

The landmark hotel is an excellent blend of Asian warmth and western comfort, characteristics that will make it very appealing to discriminating guests. Certainly, the P3-billion Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is an indication of the growing confidence in the country as a viable investment destination, which augurs well for the tourism sector, with arrivals increasing three percent to over three million in the first five months of this year. No doubt travelers — both seasoned and new — will find a stop at Marco Polo Ortigas a great addition to their voyage experience.
