A leave for one night

There is nothing so uplifting like a birthday celebrated with family and the best of ties.

This year, I took my birthday leave as emcee and sat back and enjoyed the program with my friends Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario and lovely wife Gretchen, former Ambassador to Japan Domingo Siazon Jr. and charming wife Kay and Planters Development Bank chairman and CEO, Ambassador Jesus “Chuching” Tambunting, and many, many more.

The evening began with mouthwatering cocktail fare that only the chefs at Dusit Thani Manila could create plus exquisite wines from Titania Wine Cellar’s Tita Trillo. Guests at the foyer and inside the Grand Ballroom were enthralled by the captivating ambiance, a fashion show presenting the marvelous designs of Lulu Tan-Gan with jewelry by Jewelmer and topnotch performances from Martin Nievera, Stephanie Reese, Pinky Marquez, Jack Salud and Kris John Paul Gonzales.

I was overwhelmed by well-wishers that included my friends from the diplomatic corps and business and social circles and this is what I have to say: “I love you all. We had a grand time. You have given me lots of happy memories.”

Thank you to Aficionado Germany Perfume’s Joel Cruz, Rustan’s’ Nedy Tantoco, Laneige’s Winnie Go and Beabi’s Willin Chan for the giveaways as remembrance of my birthday celebration.

Finally, I would also like to give my heartfelt thanks to all who made a donation to the EJ Litton Foundation that night. Thank you! Thank you! Happiness and good health to all! See you next year!
