Through the artist’s eyes

“Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks.” — Plutarch

World-renowned painter Betsy Westendorp recently held an art exhibit entitled Portrait of an Artist:  Betsy Westendorp.  Whitespace in Makati was lined with the artist’s works, most of which belong to her significant collection of “atmosferografias.” Her small works and photo documentation of influential personalities — both in the Philippines and Europe — were also on display, each piece leaving the guests in awe as they marveled at Betsy’s incomparable artistry.

Curated by Eva McGovern, the event was well-attended by the country’s most admired luminaries including former President Fidel Ramos and wife Amelita, Swiss Ambassador Ivo Sieber and wife Gracita, Spanish Ambassador Jorge Domecq and  CATS Motors Inc. president Felix Ang and wife Grace.

Congratulations, Betsy!
