“Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once.†– Lillian Dickson
A beacon of hope shone for the historic St. Paul, The First Hermit Cathedral in San Pablo City, Laguna with the recently held Recuerdos de Ayer: Our Music, Our Memories, a benefit event for the restoration of the church’s patio. Organized by the Samahan ng Mahal na Pasion led by its benevolent chairman Ado Escudero, in coordination with the Cathedral’s Finance Committee, the concert was held at the Makati Shangri-La’s Rizal Ballroom and featured a stellar line-up of performances from Golden Arches Development Corp. founder and chairman George Yang, Cultural Center of the Philippines president Raul Sunico, Rachel Gerodias, Dulce, Armida Siguion-Reyna with Cris and Opap Villonco.
Famed designer Patis Tesoro also showcased her beautiful and avant-garde Filipiniana ternos, which were worn on the runway by 65 well respected and prominent personalities who shared their precious time for a great and worthy cause. Among them were Pagsanjan, Laguna Mayor Girlie “Maita†Javier Ejercito, Biñan City Mayor Len Alonte-Naguiat, Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas, Aficionado Germany Perfume president and chief executive officer Joel Cruz, Zambia Consul Louie Ablaza and wife Guatemala Consul Mellie Ablaza.
Guests enjoyed an afternoon of classical music plus a traditional Filipiniana couture with a contemporary twist that truly highlighted the exceptional Filipino culture in every detail.
Congratulations, Ado, for holding yet another successful fundraiser!
