Aaah! We have finally entered the “ber” months and we all know what that means bazaars will be popping up like mushrooms and your neighborhood cafe will be cranking up Christmas tunes that will most likely last until late January. Within a few weeks, you will be receiving those party invitations, balikbayan friends and relatives will be waiting for you to fetch them at NAIA and dinner get-togethers will be piling up.
Every busy working woman expects both glamour and ease in her outfits. Added to that, tag prices should read “reasonable while looking outrageously expensive.” Thankfully for such women-in-Yuletide-crisis, there is Viola, a clothing line that offers ladies several options in party dresses.
Anne Bichelmeir, designer for Viola, suggests using stretch material for the season. “Stretch does not always mean body hugging. The material, however, does permit a woman’s figure needed to conform to her body and in so doing, gives an outfit a better ‘made-to-measure’ look.” Also among the Viola collection are a number of classics with a twist. “Have at least one aspect of your ensemble stand out,” Bichelmeir explains. “Maybe it is the color of your material, an eye-catching accessory or a subtle deviation in the cut of an otherwise classic outfit. These unobtrusive differences go a long way in making an outfit stand out in the crowd.”
(Viola is available at SM Stores in North Edsa, Cubao, Megamall, Mall of Asia, Makati and soon to open in Cebu.)
