“There is no such thing in anyone’s life as an unimportant day.” — Alexander Woolcott
It was truly one fine evening as Caruso Ristorante Italiano, one of the leading Italian restaurants in the country led by hardworking owner Dario Gardini and ably assisted by Evelyn Mina, recently hosted an elegant appreciation dinner party for distinguished guests including the 2009 Best Dressed Women of the Philippines. A romantic Italian setting greeted members of Manila’s high society as they were royally treated to an authentic Italian dining experience replete with delectable specialties such as Pizzette mignon assortie, Garganelli ai funghi porcini dell’Ossola (home made pasta with porcimi mushroom), Filetto di pollo alla Valdostana (chicken breast stuffed with parma ham and cheese in Valdostana style) complemented with superb Sangiovese Puglia and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo wines. Afterwards, the guests had the privilege of watching the all-Italian Spaziale Splendy show featuring the innovative, 100 percent microfiber bathrobes and towels collection invented by Milanese entrepreneur Emilio Mina. The collection was gracefully showcased amidst the enthralling music of world-class baritone Jack Salud. It was indeed a grand fusion of Italian cuisine and fashion, thanks to Caruso!
Bravo!
(Spaziale Splendy bathrobes are available at all branches of Rustan’s. Caruso Ristorante Italiano is located on Reposo Street, Bel Air, Makati).
