All is fair in red and white

“Excellence encourages one about life generally; it shows the spiritual wealth of the world.” — T.S. Eliot

It was another splendid affair as The San Beda College Alumni Association (SBCAA), led by president lawyer Jonas Cabochan, recently held its traditional Red and White Ball at the NBC Tent Bonifacio Global City, which gathered prominent names in the fields of business, government service and entertainment industries. Dubbed A Celebration of Bedan Achievement, the ball honored Bedans who made a big difference in their life of service in the spirit of San Beda’s motto of prayer, study, work and pursuit of peace. Leading the honorees were Supreme Court Justice Antonio Eduardo Nachura, ACCRALAW founder lawyer Avelino Cruz, singer Bimbo Danao (posthumous), captain Gregorio Oca and topnotch accountant Eugenio Reyes. The occasion also turned up significant personalities such as PLDT top honcho Dr. Manuel Pangilinan, Sonia Roco, Rep. Abhraham Mitra and Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PCCI) chairman Mike Varela, philanthropist Imelda Cojuangco, Gerry Contreras and Consul Mellie Ablaza.

Congratulations!

Celebrating The Gift Of Life

The posh North Forbes residence of Letty Syquia was the fitting venue as brilliant journalist and much-loved socialite Ethel Timbol recently celebrated her birthday with a warm luncheon birthday hosted by 14 of her good friends — Consul Mellie Ablaza, Nympha Valencia, Marietha Holmgren, Alice Samson, Chit Salud, Chit Gohu, Tereret Liboro, Consul Fortune Ledesma, Nini Layug, Ditas Posadas, Virgie Lane, Gilda Salonga, Tessie Rodrigo and Letty Syquia. It was another reason to love life as the strong-willed Ethel who remarkably survived a battle with cancer celebrated another fruitful year in the company of good friends and loving family. Everyone had absolute fun catching up with the latest stories as they indulged in a delectable banquet courtesy of Le Souffle.

Happy birthday Ethel, many more to come!
