The recent celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Philippine Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP) showcased the makings of a legacy. As past and present members of the country’s premier modeling organization took the runways once again, Samsung, The Peninsula Manila, Rustan’s Essenses, Metrobank Femme Visa, Bench, Belo Medical Group, Moet & Chandon Champagne, Hennessy Cognac, Absolut Vodka, Jim Beam, Yellow Tail Wine and Fiamma provided undying support to fashion. PMAP president Rissa Mananquil-Samson, the current torchbearer of the group, is pushing the envelope in local modeling as it moves on to the future.
PMAP is an institution that sets an example of what modeling is all about and what it should be. It has created the standard that best exemplifies local modeling as a profession. Today, it has gone a long way and without its presence, fashion will not be able to move forward. This event symbolizes unity in the industry as the best designers, makeup artists, hair and fashion stylists and creative artists worked hand in hand to celebrate this milestone. This is Philippine fashion at its best.
