Style ID: Campus hotties

It’s nice to look back and think about college, where my problems were simply what to wear to school and how to hook that gorgeous hunk.

Those were the days when cutting class was already thrilling and finishing my college thesis was the most difficult project I had to do. This month, thousands of students experience meeting new friends and professors in school. During my time, shorts and tanks were a no-no in college, but now it seems college students are more fashion-forward. Hear it from these former and current campus heartthrobs and check out their wardrobe choices when going to school this year.

Wearing top and shorts from Chocolate; necklace by Get Happy; accessories by Firma; watch by Kenneth Cole available at L Time Studio; shoes, model’s own

Chris is an assistant product manager for cosmetics and fragrances from Paris. This beauty expert completed a double degree in Political Science and Business Management at the De La Salle University a few years back. In her younger years, she was busy debating, playing tennis and scuba diving, apart from a few modeling jobs here and there for TV and print ads for Smart, Close-Up and Coke among others.

She would dress up for school in a classic shirt and jeans, but would wear something dressier and sexier when going out. She used to party a lot and go to work with only a few hours of sleep as opposed to her life now. Clubbing and staying up late are no longer her priorities especially when she has work the next day. Nowadays, she would rather spend time with her family and boyfriend or go out of town with friends.

Patty Laurel
Wearing Chocolate top and skirt; accessories by Firma; watch by Diesel available at L Time Studio

Neutrogena’s pretty face, Patty Laurel recently finished AB Communications from the Ateneo de Manila University. Patty was very active in school (she was part of the Student Judiciary Board of the Student Council). But because she was working all throughout college (for UAAP, MTV and Studio 23), she missed out on all the fun student organizations and activities. When dressing up for school, she suggests that it’s best to be makeup free. But if you don’t want to go completely barefaced then a glossy lip balm and lightweight cheek stain will do. She feels school shouldn’t be your catwalk though. "Don’t let the clothes do the talking for you, let people know you for your talents and intelligence first. Now that she’s done with school, she can now focus on her work as a host for Studio 23’s Breakfast and as the lifestyle editor of a teen magazine.

Georgina Wilson
Wearing Chocolate top and shorts; accessories by Firma; watch by Fossil, available at L Time Studio; shoes, model’s own

Georgina has made her mark in the modeling industry after only a year of being in the business. You probably think she’s familiar because she’s mostly seen in local fashion magazines and is the newest endorser of Ponds.

Her long and curvaceous figure makes her look like she just stepped out of a beauty pageant (she takes after her aunt, 1969 Miss Universe Gloria Diaz). Georgina, 19, is an Economics honors major at the Ateneo de Manila University. When going to school she makes sure she wears comfortable clothing like skirts, linen pants and spaghetti straps, comfortable shoes, an organized school bag with her trusty calculator inside it.

She prefers a look that is feminine and classic and likes to stick to the basic colors and just accessorize. When not busy modeling, she is busy cheer leading or playing tennis. This model is definitely going places and we just wish her luck when she moves to Australia to further her studies at the University of Sydney.

Nicole Hernandez
Wearing Chocolate top and skirt; accessories by Firma; watch by Fossil available at L Time Studio

Nicole was every guy’s crush when she was studying at the De La Salle University. Her innocent face and sweet smile made her guy classmates cringe every time she walked by.

She remembers dressing up in college wearing comfy shoes, big stylish bags (to dump your stuff in), loads of accessories and lots of skirts. Nicole fondly remembers her college graduation. She felt it was such an important phase in her life, when she realized that she’s no longer a teener and that she had to prepare for bigger things in the future.

She definitely has bigger things ahead of her as she is endorsing products left and right, from Addict mobile pre-paid cards to beauty products like Ponds. She also plans to take up fashion in the next couple of years.
