Vive le France

"In life beauty perishes, but not in art." Leonardo da Vinci

The rich and diverse culture of France is set to be celebrated here in the Philippines this month. Spearheaded by the tireless French Ambassador Renee Veyret and her efficient staff at the French Embassy in cooperation with the Alliance Francaise de Manille and Association Francaise d’Action Artistique, the French Spring in Manila will hold a series of performances in theater, music, dance, visual arts and cinema at various venues around the metro.

French Spring in Manila provides Filipino and French artists with opportunities to discover new modes of expression and interpretation. Dubbed A Feat of Diversity, the festival presents a fascinating music and comic theater performance named Duel, exceptional violinist Nemanja Radulovic with the prestigious Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, Contemporary Circus with IXBE, classical guitar duet with talented young guitarists The Duo Astor, a book launch of Tribute to the Filipino Woman, live jazz concerts, exhibits, an animation workshop at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, the Ninth French Film Festival and the much-awaited Fete de la Musique.

Indeed, let us celebrate the cultural diversity of our two nations! Vive le France!
