Birthdays are the perfect occasion to celebrate. Lately, these events seem to be better shared with an intimate circle of friends instead of the huge banquets where one can hardly hear nor talk with the hundreds of attendees. We were able to join these four September-born celebrants.
Tokie Tantoco Enriquez
Growing up in a luxury retailer family as the youngest of six, Tokie was immersed in a world of diverse cultures and intriguing personalities — from diplomats to friends of all ages — all connected to our department store business. This unique environment not only nurtured her social skills but also sparked a passion for international relations — traveling to numerous countries due to the business.
“This milestone year is not just about the years gone by, but about the incredible people who have filled my life with joy and support. As I went through my albums reflecting on my six decades, I must say I feel incredibly privileged and blessed. I’ve had an amazing life filled with so many exciting experiences, and I truly have so much to be thankful for, most especially to God the Almighty,” Tokie enthused.
Louie Heredia
Renowned Filipino singer and actor Louie is celebrated for his smooth vocals and captivating performances. Coming from the prestigious Tuason clan, he made a unique mark as the only member of the family to venture into showbiz, rising to fame in the 1980-1990s with his heartfelt ballads and pop hits, gaining a loyal following.
Louie also dabbled in acting, showcasing his versatility as an entertainer. Despite his artistic success, he remains grounded, carrying the legacy of the Tuason family with grace and distinction.
“After 60 years, I can only look back and be grateful for the non-stop blessings God has given me and all on a silver platter at that...I am blessed with a wonderful family, friends who are supportive and close to my heart...and of course, good health. I can only look forward to continue being an inspiration and blessing to others," Louie said.
Reggie Aguinaldo Young
Always on the go, be it in the US or Manila, Reggie and her husband Stephen make it a point to touch base with their large circle of friends worldwide. Giving back is important and being a board of trustee of Museo Pambata gives her the opportunity to work with children in an educational yet entertaining atmosphere.
“I am mostly grateful for the blessings of my family, my beloved husband Stephen, close childhood and family friends who have been there for us all these years and are really a part of our family circle here on Earth,” Reggie said. There are also my work colleagues who I have collaborated with through many years and share a close bond with. I look forward to each waking day with a positive view, being able to live a peaceful daily life and doing everyday things that make me content at home and at work.”
Ana Amigo Antonio
Taking a moment from her busy activities, Ana shared, “As I celebrate another birthday, I am filled with gratitude for my beloved children, Raine and Cy, my family, and my friends. They bring joy and unforgettable memories to my life. I thank the Lord for this second chance, inspiring me to embrace each moment with love, joy, and purpose. I aim to be a light in the world, encouraging others to find silver linings amid challenges. I believe even our small actions can reflect His glory, so I commit to kindness and positivity, hoping to inspire a ripple effect of gratitude and compassion for others.”
