Marcos back from UAE

President Marcos meets with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the al-Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi.

MANILA, Philippines —  President Marcos yesterday arrived in Manila from a one-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he witnessed the signing of several deals and reaffirmed close relations with the Middle Eastern country.

“I have just concluded a short but highly productive visit to the United Arab Emirates. We did this as we commemorate 50 years of very strong and friendly and rapidly progressing bilateral ties between our two countries,” Marcos said.

“I look forward to the implementation of several bilateral agreements in culture, energy transition, legal cooperation, artificial intelligence and digital economy, the improvement of government activities, visa waiver for holders of diplomatic, special and official passports and investment cooperation,” he added.

During his meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday, Marcos reaffirmed the Philippine government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding areas of cooperation between the two nations.

Marcos also expressed the Philippines’ appreciation for the UAE government’s care and respect for the Filipino community there.

During their discussion on regional stability, Marcos assured the UAE leader of the Philippines’ commitment to resolving maritime issues through the rule of law and adherence to international agreements, such as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
