MANILA, Philippines — The remains of the three Filipino workers who died during severe flooding in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are to be repatriated soon, according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).

“Our regional welfare offices in Regions 2, 3 and 4A are not only giving assistance to the families in the processing of the documents to receive the remains of their families, but are also present for their other needs,” OWWA said.

OWWA also reported that another overseas Filipino worker (OFW), identified as a certain Cambalon, is confined in an intensive care unit because of an accident with a sinkhole formed because of the heavy rains.

The OFW suffered multiple fractures requiring a medical operation but is now in stable condition in a hospital in Al Barsha.

The Migrant Workers Office and OWWA promised assistance until the OFW has fully recovered.
