BOCAUE, Bulacan , Philippines – The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX)-Philippine Arena interchange, which is seen to ease traffic congestion in this town and nearby areas, will be opened today.
“This is part of our continuing commitment to enhance our services for the public and help ease traffic flow in and out of our expressways,” NLEX Corp. president and general manager Luigi Bautista said yesterday.
The eight-lane toll plaza is composed of five exit lanes and three entry lanes.
The interchange is an alternate route for the heavily congested Gov. Fortunato Halili Avenue in this town.
The opening of the toll plaza is expected to benefit motorists going in and out of this town, Sta. Maria, Pandi, Angat and Norzagaray.
The interchange is also seen to improve the accessibility of the Philippine Arena, a popular venue for major sports events and entertainment activities.
The opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian Games on Nov. 30 will be held at the Philippine Arena.
The new intechange is part of the NLEX closed system.
A toll of P6 will be collected for ordinary cars, P17 for buses and small trucks and P19 for big trucks, including trailers.
Meanwhile, construction is ongoing for an access road at the southbound lane of NLEX from Philippine Arena.
