MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Wednesday hurled allegations that certain groups are plotting to discredit the Duterte administration ahead of the May polls, citing supposed intelligence information that cannot be independently verified.

At a press conference, presidential spokesman Salvador Panelo said the president received intelligence information that shows the Liberal Party, the “yellows,” Magdalos and media outfits are conniving against the Duterte government.

Panelo said the conspiracy seeks to “discredit the administration and to boost the candidacy of the opposition that is the purpose.”

“Personalities identified they are LP advocates active in social media dishing out anti Duterte statements,” he added. — With reports from The STAR/Alexis Romero
