US destroyer arrives in Manila

No exercise is scheduled during the resupply mision of USS Paul Hamilton. US Navy

MANILA, Philippines– USS Paul Hamilton (DDG-60), an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, arrived in Manila for a routine port resupply mission and liberty call on Sunday.

During its resupply mission in the Philippines, the USS Paul Hamilton will not hold any exercises.

The port call will instead allow the crew composed of more than 300 sailors to rest and tour the capital city and nearby historical sites.

The ship started its deployment in February and has been conducting theater security cooperation operations, maritime presence operations and leadership engagements with its partner nations.

Currently, the US destroyer is on its independent deployment to the Arabian Gulf and Western Pacific Ocean.

The USS Paul Hamilton is assigned to Destroyer Squadron 21 and is home ported in Hawaii within the US 3rd Fleet area of operations. It is categorized as a multi-mission ship designed to operate independently or with an associated strike group.
