MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED 12:09 p.m.) — Justice Secretary Leila De Lima and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo are among the possible senatorial bets of the ruling Liberal Party (LP) for the 2016 national elections, an LP official said.
In an interview with ANC's Headstart on Wednesday, LP political and electoral affairs chairman and Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice listed the possible senatorial slate of the party for the 2016 polls.
"Ang safe na answer is Sen. (Franklin) Drilon, Sen. (Ralph) Recto, Sen. (TG) Guingona and (Food Security and Agricultural Modernization Secretary) Secretary Kiko (Pangilinan)," Erice said.

The LP official also listed the following as possible senatorial bets:
- Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Director General Joel Villanueva
- Former Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Arenas
- Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo
- Former Pampanga Gov. Mark Lapid
- Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno
- Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Francis Tolentino
- Energy Secretary Carlos Jericho Petilla
- Las Piñas Rep. Mark Villar
Erice clarified that the LP is still in talks with its coalition partners and the senatorial line-up is not yet final.
"A lot of candidates will be deciding after the ghost month," Erice said.
A few weeks ago, President Benigno Aquino III endorsed Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas as the presidential candidate of the LP for the 206 national elections.
