MANILA, Philippines — The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on Tuesday made public the findings of its own investigation on the clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao with police Special Action Force.

The 35-page report was submitted to the Senate Committee on Public Order despite earlier statements that the government will have to request for a copy from the International Monitoring Team based in Kuala Lumpur.

In its report, the rebel group alleged that the police commandos, 44 of whom died in the encounter, fired the first shots and triggered the hours-long firefight.

The MILF also said 18 of its members were killed, whose remains were photographed and included in the report.
