MANILA, Philippines - The former aide of food security chief Francis Pangilinan is now the new administrator of the National Food Authority (NFA).
Renan Dalisay, former special assistant for NFA concerns to Pangilinan, was installed as head of the state-run grains procurement agency.
Dalisay, who holds a political science degree from the University of the Philippines, was also Pangilinan’s chief of staff during his term as senator and co-chairman of the Congressional Oversight Committee on Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization from 2001 to 2013.
Dalisay served as program officer of the Governance and Local Democracy Project of Philippine Business for Social Progress. He is currently a member of the Kaya Natin Movement for Good Governance.
“I trust Renan Dalisay to serve with integrity and skill as he did for 12 years in the Senate. What we need in NFA is somebody who can make things happen and implement the clear directions, policies and reform agenda that the NFA Council and OPAFSAM (Office of the Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization) have set,” Pangilinan said.
