MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe leads the list of probable vice presidential bets for the 2016 elections, according to the latest survey by Pulse Asia.

Among the 11 individuals included in Pulse Asia survey's September 2014 vice presidential probe, Poe emerged as the top pick with 31 percent of Filipinos identifying her as their choice for vice president in May 2016.

Pulse Asia said Poe enjoys sizeable plurality voter preferences in practically all geographic areas (29 percent to 36 percent) and every socioeconomic grouping (30 percent to 31 percent).

The only exception is in Mindanao where almost the same voter preferences are recorded by Poe and Sen. Francis Escudero, who ranked second.

Aside from Poe, Escudero was the only other individual to obtain a double-digit vice-presidential voter preference at 19 percent.

The other personalities included in the survey registered a voter preference of at most nine percent.

Only two percent of Filipinos are not inclined to vote for any of the public figures whose vice-presidential chances are probed in the survey.

The Pulse Asia survey was conducted from September 8 to 15 and polled 1,200 respondents.
