Sandiganbayan orders Enrile's arrest

MANILA, Philippines - The Sandiganbayan Third Division on Friday ordered the arrest of Senator Juan Ponce Enrile after it found sufficient grounds to indict him for plunder and graft charges.

The court also ordered the arrest of his former chief of staff Gigi Reyes, businesswoman Janet Napoles, Ronald John Lim, and John Raymond de Asis for plunder charges.

Enrile is also facing 11 counts of graft charges.

The Sandiganbayan's First and Fifth divisions earlier ordered the arrests of senators Ramon Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada also for allegedly pocketing part of their Priority Development Assistance Fund through fake non-government organizations of Napoles.

Revilla and Estrada are now detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame.

Napoles has been detained at a police camp in Sta. Rosa, Laguna for illegal detention charges filed by pork barrel scam whistleblower Benhuy Luy before a local court in Makati City.
