MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) presented to the media on Monday Cedric Lee and Simeon Palma alias Zimmmer Raz, suspects in the serious illegal detention case involving actor Vhong Navarro.
NBI National Capital Region Regional Director Elfren Meneses and Assistant Regional Director Vicente De Guzman III presented the two who were arrested on Saturday at Oras, Eastern Samar.
The NBI said it will formally inform the Taguig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) about the arrest. De Guzman said the two need not be brought to and presented before the RTC unless ordered by the court.
The two will remain at the NBI detention facility while awaiting the commitment order to be issued by the Taguig City RTC or the order specifying where they should be detained.
NBI Deputy Director Rafael Ragos said Jed Fernandez, another accused in the mauling of actor-comedian Vhong Navarro, has sent a "surrender feeler."
De Guzman meanwhile said they already have information about the possible location of Deniece Cornejo.
